sgplotps

Draw sampled vectors as PostScript images or wiggle plots

Package: sigclear-plot ยท Version: 1.0.3 Download JSON

Description

Create a multi-panel PostScript image or wiggle plot from sampled vector
fields. Select the plotting style and fields, then set clipping, scaling, and
axis options to suit the data; output is PostScript, not a raster image.
Axis formats starting with time: display UTC dates and times from numeric Unix
epoch seconds, with calendar-aligned automatic ticks. Sample coordinates can
use an epoch-valued s0 attribute and a sampling interval ds in seconds.

Synopsis

sgplotps <stdin layout=subgroup out=stdout eps=false #data.label=FIELDNAME #data.image=grey #data.wiggle=false #data.wiggle.scale=1.0 #data.wiggle.linewidth=0.1 #data.wiggle.ccurv="50" #data.wiggle.cleft=NULL #data.wiggle.cright=NULL #data.wiggle.cpos="50" #data.wiggle.cneg=NULL image.bar=true image.bar.length=1.0 image.bar.thick=6 image.bar.space=4 graph=NULL #graph.color="000000" #graph.label=FIELDNAME #graph.linewidth=0.5 graph.legend=none graph.legend.font=Roman graph.legend.style=normal graph.legend.size=8 left= right= top= bottom= xreverse=false yreverse=true

left axis Unknown axis for vector sample coordinates
right axis Unknown right-axis settings; image and wiggle panels do not draw this axis
top axis Unknown axis for column coordinates
bottom axis Unknown subgroup labels, one centered value per subgroup
xreverse bool false reverse the x axis
yreverse bool true reverse the y axis

Input and output

Input

input dataset; each group produces a page, with panels arranged by subgroup and vector

Output

output PostScript figure

Examples

1. Label a sampled epoch-time axis in UTC

sgplotps left.label="UTC" left.fmt="time:%m-%d %H:%M:%S" \
  left.tic=auto5 out.edge.left=90 <sampled.sg >sampled.ps

The selected vector's s0 attribute must contain Unix epoch seconds and ds
must contain its sampling interval in seconds. Values remain numeric;
the format changes tick labels and automatic spacing, not the samples.
