Description
Convert hexadecimal text to a native long identifier or calculate the
program's fixed-width text hash. These operations are intended for identifiers,
not general-purpose text parsing; hash results depend on the native long
representation of the system.

Examples
1. Convert hexadecimal text into a native long identifier
sgfieldtext id:l=data.hex2long <input.sg >identifiers.sgInput data must contain hexadecimal text; id is a native signed-long scalar.
Check that the parsed value fits the platform's long range. This is not a
portable identifier encoding; inspect values before using them as keys.
