Select groups, columns, sample intervals, or fields from a dataset

Description

Select an inclusive range of groups, limit the number of columns checked or
written, and crop sampled vectors to a time interval. Use remove to drop
specified scalar or vector fields from the output schema. The requested time
interval must intersect every retained vector; field-value threshold
selection is not supported.
